Center.app is now 3.is, plus infrastructure improvements and enhanced user experience

It's been an exciting week at 3.is (formerly Center.app)! We're thrilled to share our new identity and all the improvements we've been working on.

🎉 Major Announcement: Center.app is now 3.is

The biggest news this week is our rebrand! Center.app is now 3.is. We've written a detailed blog post about the name change, but here's the quick version:

  • 3.is is shorter, more memorable, and more "1337" than center.app
  • All existing integrations continue to work seamlessly
  • api.center.app will continue to work
  • New managed postgres database URLs will be created at *.db.3.is

🚀 Infrastructure & Performance Improvements

Indexing Workload Operator (CEN-1224)

We've introduced a new indexing-workload-operator that automatically manages Kubernetes workloads for blockchain indexing tasks. This improvement includes:

  • Increased worker replicas for better performance
  • More efficient resource allocation
  • Automated scaling based on workload demands

This was a pretty big push. It's our second custom kubernetes operator. We're still running our previous iteration of the indexing infrastructure and expect to switch over to this k8s-managed system fully in the upcoming weeks.

Backend Optimizations & Stability Fixes

  • Logs of queueing fixes that make our distributed systems more efficient and reliable.

🎨 User Experience Enhancements

Authentication & User Management

  • Enhanced user session tracking and UTM handling (CEN-1319) - Better analytics and user journey tracking
  • Improved user signup flow through the indexing widget (CEN-1305) with comprehensive testing
  • Enhanced password reset flow and UI (CEN-1304) for a smoother user experience

Visual & Design Updates

  • Updated changelog Open Graph images with new design (CEN-1294)
  • Improved font loading for OG image generation - now fetches Basier Circle fonts from Google Cloud Storage
  • Updated static OpenGraph images across the platform
  • Updated docs UI to match our new brand styles (CEN-1309)

🔧 Developer Experience & Monitoring

Communication & Alerts

  • Enhanced mailer service integration and configuration (CEN-1316)
  • Simplified Slack notifier setup (CEN-1303)
  • Restored PagerDuty setup for better incident management (CEN-1301)

Testing & Quality

  • Fixed flaky end-to-end tests (CEN-1307)
  • Various hotfixes and stability improvements
  • Disabled Turbo for better build reliability

🔍 Technical Fixes

  • Filtered out nameless fragments in backend-v2 handler
  • Removed deprecated fastify/static dependency
  • Fixed ctype issues
  • Bumped reflect-metadata in evm-indexer
  • Various infrastructure updates and optimizations
